London’s gay club scene from the 1970s to the present gave us some of the most legendary venues, unforgettable nights and strongest communities imaginable. For many of us, these clubs were far more than just places to dance — they were our safe spaces, our escape, and our home away from home. They were places where we could truly be ourselves without judgement, wear what we wanted, meet our people and dance until the early hours like tomorrow didn’t exist.

Sadly, many of these beloved venues have now disappeared with the passing of time, redevelopment and changing nightlife culture. But here at Lost Gay London, we’re determined to keep the memories alive and celebrate the clubs, pubs, bars and people that helped shape London’s LGBTQ+ history.

Dedicated pages for many of London’s iconic gay clubs and venues have been added, packed with memories, photos, flyers, videos and scene history. If you don’t see a club you loved, feel free to contact us with any information, stories or pictures you may have, and we’ll happily look into creating a page for it.

To explore the club archive, simply hover over the “CLUBS” section in the menu at the top of the page, or click one of the images below to visit a specific venue page.
